Qatar e-Nature Application

The Qatar e-Nature app was launched in December 2013 in collaboration with Sasol. It is an educational awareness initiative supported by a school competition launched in 2015.

The app is available for free download on the App StoreGoogle PlayWindows Phone Store, and on the website enature.qa.

All information within the app and the website is updated regularly.

The app serves as a valuable resource for the local community, and is widely used in schools through the interactive Qatar e-Nature School Competition, which aims to raise awareness of Qatar’s environmental biodiversity.

Available in both Arabic and English, the app supports the environmental awareness goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

We have long embraced the motto: “True environmental sustainability can only be achieved when everyone is involved” — captured in the slogan: “Everyone in Their Place”.

From a societal perspective, this program enters our mobile phones to provide detailed information on 963 species found in Qatar’s natural environment, categorized into six groups in both Arabic and English:

  • Birds: 322
  • Plants: 364
  • Insects: 123
  • Reptiles: 32
  • Mammals: 21
  • Marine species: 101

These documented species undergo continuous processes of review, development, verification, addition, and removal to ensure the highest levels of accuracy—especially since the app can be enjoyed anywhere in the world, serving as Qatar’s ambassador in showcasing our natural heritage.

The app also features 12 natural reserves, including their geographic locations and detailed descriptions of each reserve.
