The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, represented by the Natural Reserves Department, seized a number of bird-calling devices, known as “Sawayat,” in the area falling within the jurisdiction of the Burorq Unit at Al Reem Nature Reserve, as part of the Ministry’s ongoing inspection and monitoring campaigns aimed at protecting wildlife and natural reserves.
The seizure took place during a field inspection conducted by the Ministry’s teams inside the reserve, as part of intensified monitoring of natural and terrestrial areas and efforts to identify practices that could negatively affect birds, wildlife, and their natural habitats. The unit’s teams took the necessary measures regarding the violations detected, contributing to enhanced wildlife protection and the conservation of the country’s natural resources.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change called on visitors to terrestrial areas and natural reserves to comply with the applicable environmental laws and requirements, and to refrain from using methods and practices that could harm wildlife or affect the ecological balance. The Ministry emphasized that protecting wildlife is a shared responsibility that requires the cooperation of all members of society.
