As part of its vision to encourage young people to protect the environment, foster innovation and creativity among students, and promote the use of advanced technologies to address environmental challenges, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), represented by the Environmental Monitoring and Inspection Department, honored Mohammed Hassan Al-Sayed, a student from Ahmed Bin Hanbal Secondary School for Boys, in recognition of his outstanding achievement in developing a smart submarine equipped with artificial intelligence technologies to monitor the health of coral reefs.
The recognition reflects the Ministry’s commitment to supporting promising student-led initiatives and innovations, while encouraging younger generations to harness science, technology, and artificial intelligence to develop solutions that contribute to environmental protection, the conservation of natural resources, and the sustainability of ecosystems in the State of Qatar.
The Environmental Monitoring and Inspection Department reviewed the student’s innovative project, which utilizes a smart submarine integrated with artificial intelligence technologies to monitor coral reef health. The project demonstrates students’ ability to apply their scientific knowledge and emerging technologies to address environmental issues and opens broader opportunities for research and innovation in the field of marine environmental conservation.
