The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, represented by the Department of Marine Protection, recorded the deaths of five sea turtles offshore near Al Wakrah during ongoing monitoring and marine patrol operations carried out by the Ministry to assess the condition of the marine environment and its wildlife.
Upon detecting the incident, Al Wakrah Marine Unit immediately responded and took the necessary measures in accordance with approved regulations and procedures, as part of its mandate to monitor and address any cases that may affect marine organisms and their surrounding environment.
The Department of Marine Protection affirmed its continued field efforts to monitor and protect marine organisms and preserve the safety of the marine environment and biodiversity, contributing to the protection of Qatar’s natural resources and the promotion of their sustainability.
